One day there was a dog called Wire Dog. He wanted to be a pirate. He put a patch over his eye. Then he bot a wig that had very long hair. Then he put on big boots and scared Ellen so much that she did not think it would be Wire Dog.

When Ellen was 9 years old her parents wouldn't let her have a real dog, so she made one out of wire and started writing Wire Dog stories. Now Wire Dog stories are read, written and illustrated by children and professional authors and illustrators all around the world.
